After announcing at our Annual Conference that Im Tirtzu’s next focus would be on exposing to the phenomenon of foreign agents operating in Israel’s Supreme Court, we began to act.
Last week, leading members of Im Tirtzu arrived at the Supreme Court to protest the hearing of the terrorist who murdered Rabbi Michael (Miki) Mark several weeks ago near Otniel. The terrorist was represented by "HaMoked: Center for the Defence of the Individual," an NGO funded by European governments and the New Israel Fund that places a focus on defending terrorists and their families in court.
The European Union, which openly opposes the demolitions of terrorists' homes, forgoes the proper diplomatic channels and operates in Israel's Supreme Court via foreign agents in order to change Israeli policy. This not only harms Israeli democracy and sovereignty, but bolsters terrorism.
As the week progressed we accompanied Devorah Gonen, mother of Danny Gonen z’l who was murdered last year in a terrorist attack, in the fight against the luxurious rights enjoyed by convicted terrorists in Israeli jails.
We will continue fighting to put an end to this phenomenon. The Israeli public has a right to know who's funding the defense of terrorists.
