See in 111 seconds our miraculous achievements in the financial year 2016, resulting in thirty percent growth in the overall activities.
The launch of the “Hineni” organisation
About five-hundred mothers to children with special needs participated in the event of launching “Hineni” (“I am”) – the national organisation of mothers to children with special needs, which we initiated at the Weizmann Institute of Science.
Hanukkah party
A hundred and fifty college students, each of whom coaches a special child for one year in the program of the “Aharon” Scholarship, participated with the children in the joyful Hanukkah parties which we organised in Rishon LeZion and Nes Ziona.

Six Bar Mitzvah celebrations
Six boys with special needs celebrated thanks to our efforts the most exciting moment in their lives, in the most joyful way.
The Yediot Aharonot newspaper published a moving video of one of the celebrations
A fun day of bonding for “Circle of Grace” at the ranch
Dozens of female college students engaged in the coaching project “Circle of Grace” (“Maagal ha Chessed”) participated in a day of bonding which the association organized for them at the horse-ranch in Tzafria.
A Lesson in Giving
A magnificent gesture by the coaches and the special children who take part in the “Aharon” scholarship program: they went out together to hand out Sufganiyot (jelly donuts) at the Wolfson hospital and thereby giving the special children a lesson in giving.
Graduation ceremony at the Apartment in the Community
Another group of students graduated the four months of training for independent life at the Apartment in the Community project which is in cooperation with the HaTomer School in Nes Ziona.

Saluting the female volunteers of the association
The Haifa Hostel of the association organized a day in recognition of the devoted female volunteers who give so much of their time and effort for the good of the children with special needs.

A new team of the Nova organization which provides consulting to volunteer associations, started the financial year 2017 with us, striving for a more effective, professional and efficient operation.

A proud summary of 2016
The year 2016 was the year of a great leap forward for the “Special in Uniform” program which doubled its activities in all aspects! Watch the video proving that the sky is the limit.
The conscription which moved the Israeli public
The moving conscription ceremony of four young people with special needs, including the wonderful Omer Lahat, was published in many media channels in Israel and abroad, and touched millions. See the “Mabat” news report from Israel’s channel-1.
The opening of five new units
The “Special in Uniform” program is expanding at a growing pace. Four new units were opened at IDF Air Force bases in Tel Nof, Tsrifin, Sde Dov, Hatzerim, and an additional unit at the IDF Headquarters base in Tel Aviv.
Light unto the Nations
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs includes the “Special in Uniform” program in its general publications, in official ministry documents and on the ministry’s official website.
We are very proud about it.
High praise from the Israeli Prime Minister
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met the soldiers of “Special in Uniform” at the pilots’ course graduation ceremony of the IDF Air Force Academy in Hatzerim. He was very moved and shared his impressions with a million of his followers on his Facebook page.
A Proud Father
Or-ly Lahat, a former deputy squadron commander at Hatzerim, this month came back there with his son Omer to participate in the pilot course graduation ceremony. On the way, he allowed his son to try on his pilot helmet.
The visit of the Deputy Defense Minister
The Deputy Defense Minister Rabbi Ely Ben Dahan visited the “Special in Uniform” program. He met with the soldiers who volunteer at the Home Front Command. The Deputy Defense Minister committed to support the program in any way possible.
Media Buzz in the United States
Dozens of media channels in the USA widely reported about the IDF program which is unique in the world. Among them the popular USAToday, and the international I24 News channel.
Salute to Michael
Michael Prayenty, who was born with cerebral palsy, proudly volunteered to serve in the IDF. When he first put on his uniform, all his friends saluted him with great admiration!
